SEAWIND Farm is a Social Care Farm in Mebane, NC providing engagement, community, belonging, skills, empowerment to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD). Its name is an acronym for Skills Empowerment Advocacy We Invite NeuroDiversity. We grow a broad range of fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers, botanicals. We also bake a range of items including gluten-free offerings, which often feature ingredients we grow. We can jams and put up ginger and turmeric syrups and candy. We craft with natural materials and create beauty from them year-round. We have chickens and turkeys, and a horse who provide animal-assisted therapies and fun. Our entire operation is geared to sustainable, no-spray, biodynamic approaches, but we are not certified organic. We also work with High Rock Farm in Brown Summit (owned by Tami's brother, Richard Teague) to bring fresh, local pecans and chestnuts to the market.
