My objective with woodturning is to show the natural beauty of wood, along with its eccentricities. Most of my pieces are turned from green wood , which means the wood distorts as it dries giving results that I find much more pleasing and natural than perfectly round and symmetrical. The finishes that I use are selected to make the piece practical to use, and bring out the beauty of the wood.
The woods I use are what I get from donations, or trees that need to be felled for other reasons. My work is displayed only at the Eno River Farmers Market.
